**Model ID:** `gpt-5-5-2026-04-23`

GPT 5.5 is OpenAI's latest frontier model, succeeding GPT 5.4 with improved reasoning, instruction following, and tool use. It carries forward the 1,050,000-token context window and configurable reasoning effort levels (none, low, medium, high, xhigh), with broad tool support including web search, file search, image generation, code interpreter, hosted shell, computer use, and MCP.

Note: Prompts exceeding 272K input tokens incur 2x input and 1.5x output pricing for the full session.

| Metric             | Value            |
| ------------------ | ---------------- |
| Parameter Count    | Unknown          |
| Mixture of Experts | Unknown          |
| Context Length     | 1,050,000 tokens |
| Max Output Tokens  | 128,000 tokens   |
| Multilingual       | Yes              |
| Quantized\*        | Unknown          |

\**Quantization is specific to the inference provider and the model may be offered with different quantization levels by other providers.*

## Fetch model details

The [models endpoint](/inference-api/reference/models/overview) returns the full model object, including its `json_request_schema`.

```bash theme={null}
curl -H "Authorization: Bearer $OXEN_API_KEY" https://hub.oxen.ai/api/ai/models/gpt-5-5-2026-04-23
```

## Request parameters

This model follows the standard OpenAI chat completions request body. See the [chat completions reference](../inference-api.mdx) for the full parameter list.
