**Model ID:** `kimi-k3-1-pro`

Kimi K3.1 Pro is Moonshot AI's post-trained upgrade of Kimi K3, a Mixture-of-Experts model with a 1M-token context window aimed at agentic coding, terminal work, and long-horizon tool use.

The model always thinks before answering and returns its reasoning alongside the response, with a reasoning effort of low, high, or max. It calls tools with strict JSON schema output and understands images and video, which suits coding agents that read screenshots, multi-step research, and whole-repository work. Moonshot is publishing open weights for the model.

| Metric | Value |
| - | - |
| Parameter Count | Unknown |
| Mixture of Experts | Yes |
| Context Length | 1,048,576 tokens |
| Multilingual | Yes |
| Quantized\* | Unknown |

\**Quantization is specific to the inference provider and the model may be offered with different quantization levels by other providers.*

## Fetch model details

The [models endpoint](https://docs.oxen.ai/inference-api/reference/models/overview.md) returns the full model object, including its `json_request_schema`.

```bash theme={null}
curl -H "Authorization: Bearer $OXEN_API_KEY" https://hub.oxen.ai/api/ai/models/kimi-k3-1-pro
```

## Request parameters

This model follows the standard OpenAI chat completions request body. See the [chat completions reference](../inference-api.mdx) for the full parameter list.
